Real Life Crime Story
221 | Anatomy of a lye
A hit and run accident left the victim in the windshield as the perpetrator drove home. Real news story.
603 | Bite Me A woman died and it looked like she fell down the stairs and her husband claimed to be outside and her step daughter beat her with a cane. That episode was based on a true story where a woman was found dead at the bottom of the stairs and her husband claimed she fell but he really beat her to death because of an affair motive. I believe it was the Michael Peterson Case. He was an author and a former Marine.
704 | Fannysmackin'
I was very shocked when I saw Fannysmackin', season seven, episode 4. The story is about a mob of young men and girls who spend their weekend to beat tourists to death just for fun. I thought it was to crazy to be untrue... and I found out a true story that happened in Las Vegas on 2006 Easter weekend : 15 to 20 teens violently attacked two MGM Grand worker in the street. The same night, they attacked the Wal-Martand and a Green Valley Grocery store. They only wanted to "have fun"

408 | After the Show
the Julie Waters Case from the ep After the Show was based on a true story. They talked about it on Oprah a few years back. Creepy really, that's why I can't forget that episode.
722 | Leapin' Lizards In the beginning of this episode, they find a human bone in the pig pen at the suspects farm. Nick mentioned before finding the bone, about a Canadian pig farmer he heard about that would feed his victims to his pigs. In approximately 2002, Robert Pickton, a Canadian pig farmer in Vancouver BC, was finally arrested. Charged with 6 counts of second-degree murder and and charged in the deaths of an additional 20 women(mostly if not all prostitutes).
Robert Pickton was recently sentenced to life in prison. He was found guilty of killing the women, then feeding them to his pigs. For the full story click here!
The day before this episode came out i had been wondering when an episode on one of the most well known Canadian serial killers was going to surface. I remember hearing the stories of Robert Pickton when i was only 8 years old, when he was first arrested, and I cant believe it was only a few months ago that he was finally sentenced. Its horrifying

Can't you just see Gris & the team going after this mystery? In British Columbia, officials found a severed foot washed up on the beach. Unusual enough as it is, but this is the THIRD foot that's washed up in the area since August. And they're all RIGHT feet.

This is good for CSI:Miami because there is no beach anywhere near Las Vegas
This real story in the news this week sounds vaguely like something from Law & Order, but the "meat cleaver" as a weapon means it's perfect for the CSI team.NY psychologist was violently killed by a patient, hacked to death with a cleaver. He's still at large....

I think it would be interesting to have a movie star/singer kinda like Britney or Paris that is involved in a murder or is murdered. Maybe have Greg get too involved with it. If you read the tabloids, there are tons of CSI's just waiting to happen!

In the February 29, 2008 Las Vegas Review Journal: Toxic substance ricin is found in LV hotel room. A toxic biological agent was found in a suite...Ricin...was discovered about 3 p.m. by a man who was cleaning out a suite...On Thursday, 30-year-old Charlie Aitken, who was visiting Las Vegas from Nova Scotia, Canada, for the first time, saw men suiting up in hazardous materials outfits. He said "It was like, 'Welcome to Vegas!' "

This would be an interesting story for the team (especially Grissom) to pursue; in the past thirteen months 7 people have committed suicide in the town of Bridgend in Wales. A town where the suicide rate is alarmingly high...

In Toronto a child was found abandon in the stairwell of a parking garage. It was on one of the coldest days in Toronto, the stairwell was one that the public rarely used, and the child was dressed in a snowsuit and left under the stairs. A woman walking to her car notices someone acting suspiciously around that stairwell entrance and after that person (gender was indeterminate) left the woman went to the stairwell and found the baby. The child is now in Foster care and no one has come forward to claim her.

Change it to Las Vegas in August and let our crew try and solve it.

A man fakes his death by luring a guy to his house, murdering the guy, and shoving his wallet and ID in the dead guy's pants.

January 8th, 2008 - Two men were arrested on Tuesday after pushing a corpse, seated in an office chair, along the sidewalk to a check-cashing store to cash the dead man’s Social Security check, the police said.
They went inside to present the check, but a clerk said Mr. Cintron would have to cash it himself, and asked where he was, the police said.
“He is outside,” Mr. O’Hare said, indicating the body in the chair, according to Mr. Browne.
The two men started to bring the chair inside, but it was too late.
Their sidewalk procession had already attracted the stares of passers-by who were startled by the sight of the body flopping from side to side as the two men tried to prop it up, the police said.

Picture it, opening scene, you see the point of view of the dead man in the office chair, and the arms of the men pushing you, and you hear them discussing how to pull this off.
Next thing you know, cut to the team looking at the man in the chair slumped over.
"Dead man signing checks?"
Cut to credits.
This was a really sad event for my town.

In the 70's, a writer, Kevin Hunt, for the Hartford Courant was abused by a doctor. The man told the boy's parents that he was conducting a study. He was an Irish Catholic working for the respectable St. Francis Hospital, so they let him. In reality, he took nude pictures of two boys, forced them into suggestive poses, and made child pornography. Kevin told his mother, who brought the case to another doctor, who told the board. Recently, the writer found out that not only was the doctor still working with children, St. Francis did nothing more than ask the doctor if anything innapropriete happened. Kevin recently wrote a huge story about it, with the biggest headline I've ever seen in this paper. The title was "No More John Doe." Recently, a search of the doctor's home revealed hundreds of photos of naked children. No one ever told the police, and the hospital still refuses to even acknowledge the problem. Full story Can you imagine Grissom and Nick's response to this? Hello, character development!
