Fishburne is "finding his character"

January 11, 2009

The CBS Winter Press tour is in full swing, and the network execs had a lot of say about the CBS lineup. Their news included some information about Laurence Fishburne's addition to CSI. According to CBS President Nina Tassler:

"He has assimilated more into the ensemble. Audiences have found that as he is more comfortable with the team, the team is more comfortable with him. [Viewers feel] he has arrived, he is settled, and he is part of the team."

She also noted that new episodes will feature:
“more irreverence and more of the iconic stories that we have done in the past.”

What do you think? Has Dr. Ray "arrived"? Is he part of the team?

George Eads Makes the Top 100 Sexiest Men on TV

January 1, 2009

George EadsResident hunk George Eads has been making crime scene investigation sexy for 10 years as Agent Nick Stokes. Eads (along with fellow CSI franchise stars Eddie Cahill - CSI:NY and Adam Rodriguez - formerly CSI:Miami) made Buddy TV's list of Top 100 Sexiest Men on TV. Eads came in at #39 and here's what the site said to say about him.

"The alpha dog of crime investigation is still standing tall and still looking good even while co-stars all around him abandon ship."

With Marg Helgenberger's recent news and Jorja Fox's long term prospects on the show unsure, Eads is likely to become the cornerstone of the series following the 11th season. And what a good looking cornerstone he is!

Exclusive CSI Christmas short story from "Better Off Dead" writer

December 19, 2009

Corinne Marrinan, who penned last week's "Better Off Dead" episode, has created an exclusive Christmas-themed short story that is being published in the UK's Daily Mail. It's a two-parter, with the first part up now. Check out the story here and be sure to tune in next week for the rest!

Catherinehttp://static.wikifoundry.com/img/ticon/ticon_resizedecrease.png & BrassExcerpt:
One dollar and eighty-seven cents. That was all Brass had on him. He laid a credit card on the bar counter and wished it luck. It only had to bear the price of a couple of rounds, but his salary and his expenses were not on speaking terms lately.

It was Christmas in Las Vegas. Every year, it set him back until April. Which was tax time. Which set him back until Christmas. There was a comforting rhythm to it. 'They have some good single malts,' Catherine said, and ordered a beer. That was one of the things Brass liked about her. She had class, but didn't make a man pay for it.

CSI: One of the Decade's Best

December 12, 2009

According to the Associated Press writers, CSI is one of the decade's best shows! The show was honored along with The Daily Show, Survivor and American Idol and six others. Here's the complete list.

THE ORIGINAL CSI CASTThe writers had this to say about the show:

- "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (premiered October 2000) and the franchise it inspired. This drama was already a surprise hit when, with season two, it emerged as a reassuring response to the sorrows and anxieties of 9/11. The Las Vegas-based investigators functioned with a clinical detachment from evil and evildoers, while insisting that truth and justice await those who pursue it with keen-eyed devotion. That was just the sort of reminder viewers needed. And apparently still do, with "CSI" remaining a powerhouse for CBS, along with its spinoffs, "CSI: Miami" (premiered September 2002) and "CSI: NY" (September 2004), where science, reason (plus blood-and-guts) prevail.
